Robin (my granddaughter) and Sandy are inseparable. Sandy takes his responsibilities as a protector of her seriously. He is always with her and watches her closely when they are outside. I appreciate these photos, taken by my daughter Emma.
She has captured the power of dog lovers and the wonderful lessons and benefits dogs can bring to children.
Sandy takes her work seriously; Robin has learned a lot about love.
Robin is only six, but she is getting serious about her art.
As a distant grandfather, I’ve found a role for myself in her life since she rarely sees me – it’s to support her interests and gifts, and she has many, like her mother.
I asked my blog readers to share any good books they know for young people, and Kathy Kelly answered the call right away. She recommended a children’s art story called Vincent’s Starry Night and other stories. by Micheal Bird I think it’s perfect. I’m going to send the Short Story Of Art as well.
It’s on the way to Robin. Thanks, Kathy.
Jon, the Beverly Cleary books are wonderful for kids: Henry Huggins series and the Ramona series. Just lovely books.
I never spent much time, or got to know my paternal grandparents because my dad was in the Army. Every time we changed posts, we went to Michigan to visit. We stayed with my maternal grandmother while my dad went to stay with his parents. I don’t miss what I never had. I’m sure Robin won’t either.
