The blog is back online after a wild night and morning. We got heavy snow this time, and our modem stopped working. Lots more snow is coming.
The cable had trouble as well. Dan, the best tech person I have ever met, showed up from Spectrum in the middle of the storm and got everything working. I never expected him to come this morning.
The new modem is super strong, and our Wi-Fi is back working. Dan is the best. He set up the modem when we got it five years ago; the new one is sweet and fast.
This storm is perhaps the biggest winter snowstorm; we were out shoveling and cleaning up the cars. I guess I overdid it. I felt dehydrated and exhausted; I was out there too long doing too much. I came in, got some tea and liquids, and rested for a bit. I’m in my office, back at work, and Zinnia is at my feet gnawing on a marrow bone.
The plows are just starting to try to clear the roads, but it’s still snowing heavily.
I love taking pictures in storms, and I couldn’t stop until my fingers stopped moving and the camera was covered in ice. The blog has become so important in my life; I don’t feel whole when it isn’t working. I’m inside for the rest of the day. I will be taking more photos and blogging, of course. I’m thrilled to have the blog back.
The winter landscapes are unique; I started to take them for granted because I look at them all the time, but the Leica 2 captures them in a new and beautiful way.
We threw some hay out for the donkeys, so they could think they were grazing and stop trying to eat the barn.
I saw the huge pine tree across the road from the farmhouse. It just spoke to the feeling out there as the storm continues to rage and will continue for at least several hours. This time the forecasters had it nailed just right – lots of snow over three days. The roads are still not passable.
The sheep don’t seem to mind the snow as long as it isn’t icy. Several of them sat outside in the storm all night; most were in the barn. Today they came out to examine the new landscape. They did seem a bit bewildered. Nowhere to graze. The chickens aren’t coming out of their roost today, and probably not for a couple of days.
I love these snow pictures, and the middle picture is UNIQUE the way that limb frames the top of the photo. That is an awesome shot. There was a similar one in a post yesterday of that limb over the top of the photo – before all the snow. I almost commented on that one, but it’s even more lovely in the snow. Thanks for sharing.
