Grass does not grow under the feet of the Army Of Good. This morning, the first shipment of clothes for Baby J, the infant daughter of a former Bishop Maginn student, arrived for Sue Silverstein at Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady. I know many more are on the way.
Sue will get these over to the family this evening. This donor was anonymous.
The mother requested 24 months size clothes for her baby daughter; the very loving family is working two jobs and struggling to pay for the clothes. The clothes are being shipped to Sue Silverstein, Art Department, Bishop Gibbons High School, 2600 Albany Street, Schenectady, N.Y., 12304.
Sue says Baby J (not her real name) needs sleepers, socks, coats, dresses, mittens, hats, boots, sweatsuits, onesies, and sweaters. 24 months is a size for infants.
The next few days will bring good news to this family; Sue is, as always, an angel helping her “babies” all throughout school and beyond.
She is an angel.
Whatever is sent will be put to good use or given to those other families in need. Life is hard for the refugees now, especially as winter sets in. These families work awfully hard, but it isn’t easy to catch up, as you know.
Thanks to the good people who have sent clothes and those still shopping and collecting older clothes. Used clothes in good shape are welcome, and so are new ones. It is better to do good than argue about what good is.
Baby J. is adorable!!
Raising a baby and going to school is such a difficult job. I was teaching when my children were born.. Classroom preparation was difficult. Babies demand attention!
What a hard job for that teen Mom. Baby, book study might both start with B. That’s the only thing they have in common. Glad Sue is giving her support.
