Poem: Good Night, Sleep Tight. Think Of Me In The Morning Light

by Jon Katz

Poem; Think Of Me

“Think of me, think of me,

when the darkness bites,

Good night, sleep tight,

could you think of me in the morning light?

look for color, look for bright,

life is precious; find your joy,

I dream of being that scared little boy

think of me, think of me;

life is often a hard, cold fight,

but dark brings light

look for me in the darkest night.

think of me in the chaos,

could you think of me in the morning light?

getting older, feeling free

I love you in the morning breeze,

I’m no longer afraid to lose the words,

or gaze at Mars, or turn my head

from the evening stars.

I love the snow, and I bow to the wind.

My blue sky is always just around the bend,

waiting for me.”

  6. Lovely poem.
Love the line:s”No longer afraid to lose
    the words.”
    And
    “My blue sky is always
    just around
    the bend
    waiting for me.”
These lines encourage me has I look ahead to the difficulties of a new kind of bladder cancer treatment that I will be ongoing in a few days.
Each time, I’ll remember “my blue sky is around the bend waiting for me.”
