Maria’s First Vintage Hanky Scarf. She Hand Painted Each One

by Jon Katz

Today, Maria finished the first of her Hanky Scarves.

It was spoken for before it was finished, but more will be coming next week.  Maria is hand drawing on all of the hankies; they all morph together like fiber butterflies as scarves. You can check them out on Maria’s Etsy Page soon or on her blog, fullmoonfiberart.com.

Her e-mail is [email protected].

More to come. I don’t know how many she is going to make; I’m not sure she does either. I do know the studio floor is covered with hankies sketched with original art. I just never know what I see when I walk in there.

  1. Love it! When we were cleaning out my elderly Aunt’s home, we found tons of hankies, unused & some in original packages! We were stumped until I remembered she was a teacher. She undoubtedly received these as teacher’s gifts from students over the years. It was very clever of Maria to think of drawing on them to create a unified look.
