Rain changes everything on the farm, including me and my mood. Rain and gloom make me gloomy. Sometimes it feels sweet to be gloomy; sometimes, it even feels good. I went outside in the gloom to try and capture the feel of it. Come and see.
I can finally get a shot of the birds at the feeder from Maria’s studio window.
I pass this beautiful field of white planting sticks every day. I have no idea what’s in the sticks or what this crop will be, only that it is beautiful and goes all the way to the horizon.

Fields of mist and rain
Those “sticks” may be tree tubes to protect young trees from being eaten by deer, rabbits, etc. they will be left in place and the trees will grow out of them. When large enough they are removed.
Marianna could be right. I have seen these for aronia berry bushes too. Your first photo, bird feeder in the rain, is really lovely. We had an inch of rain Monday and no we are getting snow. (Iowa) Have a wonderful day, Jon and Maria.
There’s been a steady (sometimes a hard) rain here, too, and it can be mood-lowering. But think of the birds and squirrels and other animals who can’t just turn on a faucet but must wait for the sky to provide their water. Just cozy down and know that the sun will show itself again eventually. And thank you so much for your wonderful photographs of life on Bedlam Farm.
