I love taking portrait shots of other people, but I’m uncomfortable when people take mine. I have to get over that if I want people to cooperate with me, and it’s only fair. Maria asked me this morning if she could take a portrait of me using my Leica 2.
I don’t love the idea of anyone handling my camera, but I need to be grown up and just do it, so I did. It makes me a little squeamish about seeing myself, but Maria loved the picture and said it captured me. So I put it up. It wasn’t as bad as I feared.
maria captured essence of you/thanks to you both
It’s a perfect photo of you and Maria has such native talent. I’m glad she asked.
What an appealing picture! It looks open and honest and good humored, like an old friend. It’s not easy for a photographer to coax that comfort level out of their subjects, but this one seems to have managed somehow.
really stunning portrait, thanks to Maria, and your Leica! I have not, nor will ever meet you in person…..but the twinkle in your eyes (that I see)…….. is a tribute to your inner soul., which you bare on your blog daily.
Happy New Year to you and Maria both
