Merry Christmas To Folasade, and thanks to Kathleen, a member of the Army Of Good who paid Folasade tuition at Bishop Maginn and again at Bishop Gibbons High School. She is a senior this year.
Folalslade is one of Sue Silverstein’s children; she supported and taught her and loved her every step of the way, “it’s like she’s my own child,” Sue told me this morning. When Bishop Maginn closed, Fosaladel followed Sue to Bishop Gibbons.
Folasade was accepted this week into the University of Albany, a respected training ground for doctors and scientists and a very difficult school to get into.
Folasade’s family is from the Caribbean; she worked incredibly hard every day, says Sue, and I did a profile of her and talked to her often. Sue has helped countless children follow their dreams.
Yes, Fosalade says, she intends to be a doctor to help others.
She is one of the nicest people I have ever met among Sue’s students, and Sue worked just as hard as she did to get her prepared for college and guide her through the process.
This is a great big deal.
I think of this as our own Christmas miracle, another small act of great kindness for these wonderful children from the Army Of Good. We continue to do good for the good people who need help every single day.
This is a great Christmas gift for all of us. Thanks again, Sue, and thanks again, Kathleen. You did a lot of good. Godspeed, Folasade
These kids are amazing. Sue is amazing. Kathleen is amazing. YOU are amazing! YOU did a lot of good.
You are all a Christmas miracle.
