The dark days are cleansing in a way; the world slows down a bit on the way to Christmas.
Despite the efforts by the Corporate Nation to gobble the day up, there is still a warm and rich feel about it, especially for those hardy few souls who understand what Jesus was all about.
We are already preparing for our animal moonlight fire when the winter solstice arrives on December 21st. After that, the days start getting longer, and the light returns. The color comes later.
We start piling up wood and kindling for the solstice fire in October; we’ve got a good start this year. Maria and I sit outside with the dogs and soak in the beauty of a bonfire.
I think of that when the dark days get to me. Biddie enjoys the wood, finding some buds and bark to nibble on.
This morning, off to the surgical podiatrist to check on my foot. More later.
