Bishop Gibbons 7th Graders Re-Imagine “The Scream” Creativity Is Contagious And Spreading All Over The School

by Jon Katz

Sue Silverstein has unleashed the glories and wonders of creativity. Her art projects are a trip into the world of imagination. She is unleashing young creativity all over the place.

She asked her seventh graders to re-imagine the painter Edvard Munch’s famous “The Scream.”

This is new terrain for the Cookie Monster and the other creatures of the young mind.

It is beautiful to see Sue’s remarkable re-invention of the art class and how it has lit up the minds and imaginations of so many of the students there.

Thanks again for your generosity, which has made all of this possible. It keeps growing and growing, and how wonderful it is to see these children’s enthusiasm come to life.

Sue presides over something unique and exciting; she can wake up sleeping minds and light their creative sparks. What a neat idea. I’m fascinated by this new art program, and I’ll follow it throughout the year.

  1. Love the Muppet Scream.

Tell him to get a lawyer, have it filed in the library of ocntress copyright office and defend against any Mvnch claimants. (Anyhow probably public domain and anyhow it’s parody.)
