Once a week, I get a peek at Maria’s creations and try to share them.
It’s the only time I go into her studio, and I am never disappointed. She is really at a good place in her art; it is growing as she is growing, experimenting as she is testing, and confident as she is satisfied.
If I can’t be the artist she is, I can support her artistry.
This week is certainly no exception – all kinds of new ideas and configurations in the latest quilt.
It is beautiful and different. She wrote on her blog about the new sets of circles she is incorporating into the blog.
Maria came in from her studio excited about this new quilt and invited me to see it. She said it was different from any other quilt she has made; she used different colors, shapes, and fabrics.
Maria is on a roll; I get what she sees in this one, it is unlike any of the others she has made, yet it also displays some of her trademark ideas and practices.
This one is not quite finished yet, nor is it on sale yet.
If interested, you can e-mail her – [email protected] – or wait a few days until the piece is on sale on her Etsy Page. You can also follow it on her blog. On Etsy, there are new potholders and Heron posters and magnets.
This one is exciting; she is looking at her quilting in a different, radically different way, but always staying in her vision of the new quilt.
