I’ve written a lot about talking to animals, but when I saw Maria talk to the donkeys, it took the idea to a completely different level.

Maria has been talking to the animals since she came into my life, and her relationship with the donkeys has become ever more beautiful and touching, as has my connection with them.

Animals don’t have our words or vocabulary, but their need for attention and understanding is just as great as ours. I never tire of seeing Maria talk with Lulu and Fanny. of them talking to her. I can almost reach out and touch their connection to one another.

It is a picture that never gets stale.
