My foot wound is healed, and I can walk in regular shoes again, but I’m taking a walking stick with me on hills and soft ground. I don’t want any more trouble until I’ve gotten used to walking again.
On this beautiful fall day, I walked with two incredible women – Maria and Lulu, the donkey who trotted alongside us as we headed to the back pasture with a chair for me to sit on. Maria loves sitting on the ground.
I loved this shadow. It said a lot about the two of us and our connection with each other, not to mention Lulu, who thinks of herself as Maria’s sister.
Lulu walked along with us the whole way, and Fanny and the sheep were s not far behind.
There is a lot of love in those shadows.

Bill, that was my first thought exactly! American Gothic, Bedlam Farm style! 🙂
I hadn’t thought of that, Bill and Linda..it does evoke Wyeth in a way…
Fabulous pic Jon…thank you!
Just what I needed?
Thanks Wendy
I am late to the game—–just finished reading The Second Chance Dog.
What an incredible love story in triplicate and beyond. I went to the website bedlamfarm.com/meet-freida (even realizing she was in her autumnal years a decade ago) in hopes…..blessed be the dog that helped you find each other and may doggie heaven be a safer place for all our beloved pets—- because she’s
there!
