Farm Journal: Wednesday, October 26, 2022 Dog Support Is A Go. Ukelele Lessons Continue

by Jon Katz

My morning began wonderfully with an hour-long conversation with my blog readers, a valuable Zoom Community that meets on Wednesday mornings.

I’m not accepting new members just now, we have what we need, and I hope to keep it going.

If it opens up again, I’ll post the link information, and thanks.

I have two Dog Support issues today, one is a rescue dog who doesn’t want to go outside, and the other is a dog lover trying to figure out how to deal with terminal cancer in her very beloved dog.

She’s having a rough time.

I’m going to stick with her until it’s over. It was another beautiful morning, starting with our daily mist and moving into the sunlight.

My Dog Support meetings are booked for the week; if you need help with your dog, please e-mail me at [email protected]. I’ll take it from there.

I am learning there is a great need for this service, and I know I can help almost all the time.

The trial period for Dog Support is ending; I will do it.

I’m setting up recurring Zoom Meetings every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5 p.m. I will also talk on Facetime or the telephone. And once in a while, on weekends.

Payment is $50 for half an hour (It will go up to $65 towards the end of November).

I love doing this work, talking to dog people, and solving complex problems. My mission is not to tell people what to do but to help them do what they want to do.

I teach common sense and perspective.

I am not a vet or professional dog trainer.

I try to think outside the box. I don’t push expensive videos, training books, or  TV shows. Most have nothing to do with the lives of the ordinary dog owner.

My ukulele lessons are going well. I plan to sing and play for the Mansion residents on Christmas morning.

  1. My heart goes out especially to the person coping with her dog’s terminal cancer. My most heartfelt loving thoughts and hopes for strength go out to her……… and I trust you will be able to guide her gently along the path that awaits. Having been there myself recently with only 4 days *notice*…..it is a difficult journey indeed, however long or short. May you guide and lead her well………. I know in my heart that you will and may she find solace in your counsel. Peace to you all

  2. Sorry to be dropped from your zoom group. I was out of town visiting new great grandson. Wish the group well.
