I was surprised by the day’s flower; it was a happy accident. I was going for the bees and missed.
Maria and I are heading to the movies – a documentary about David Bowie, about whom I know little. Maria was a big fan. Afterward, Mexican food.
Tomorrow, Emma and Robin are coming for the weekend. I’ll be in touch.
FYI: Our Amazon Winter Wish List aimed at helping Bishop Gibbons students and their families – those who are needy – has been postponed until next Tuesday.
Sue Silverstein is still polling to see what people need – sounds like shoes, boots, socks, blankets, toiletries, and jackets. It will be on Tuesday, one of the essential Wish Lists we support yearly.
Several people messaged me asking when it was coming up; thank you for caring and paying attention. Thanks again for the flow of used and discarded jewelry; the bosses are still pouring into the school, and Sue says they are unique and will make many students very happy.
I have to tell you about the beauty of kindness all over SW Florida. We live in Ohio but have a little trailer in Fort Myers. My husband and I came down Monday to see if anything was salvageable. We were fortunate, our roof is gone, but we have an under roof with only a few leaks. But the amazing thing is the cooperation and kindness everywhere. A group has organized and cooked breakfast and dinner for the residents in our over 55 park using generators and bottled water. Men are driving all over moving aluminum off the street. Women are driving all over picking up styrofoam insulation. Our neighbors, who we just met, came over to help us clean up the roof that blew off. Friends from Canada drove down just to help whoever needs it. Like you said, it doesn’t take a lot of money to make a difference. I can’t begin to thank everyone. I cry when I see all this. It gives me faith in humanity. Thank you for letting me share.
Thanks for telling this Deb, it is beautiful…
