I got up with the sun this morning and went out to trim my garden, which is g getting too thick. Robin rushed to the gate to get first dibs; the donkeys were out in the pasture.
I’ve neglected the Leica Monochrome this summer because of the bright flower colors. Today is Monochrome; I use it all day, including flower photos later this morning.
I’m hoping to do a portrait at the Mansion.
The welcoming committee greeted me out of the shower this morning, they walked me over to the treat drawer, and each got one, as usual. I’m making them sit and be still for two or three minutes.
It’s good for Bud and Fate; they need constant calming training; Zinnia stays still without instruction. She’s the Queen of Chill.
I call this my Zen fish tank. We’ve been gathering rocks for a week, and over the weekend, I placed my Zen rocks in the tank.
I love the look, honestly, and the stones don’t rot or need replacement. The fish seem to live with them, darting in and out.
I’m off to the Mansion now for my meditation class, a highlight of my week. More later.
Thanks for all the lovely messages, I see flower photos are improving my standard in the world. They’ll keep coming.
You haven’t mentioned the men’s group in a while. Is it still happening?
Yes, Sandy, it was interrupted by my Covid and two illnesses among the men. We are planning on cranking it up next week. Thanks for asking.
Black and white nature photography demands a lot more to be striking.

Cathy, thanks. I don’t look at other photo sights, I want it to come out of my head. I took lessons from two wonderful people for a month or so, and they helped me understand my camera. This link might be valuable for people and thank you for sending it, but I’m on my own now and excited about the challenge both of color and black and white photography this autumn and winter..best jon
Love the black and white photo of the dogs. It forces one to focus on their earnest supplication for treats without distraction of competing background details. One of my favorite photos of the dogs.
