by Jon Katz

It was a quiet day for me. I’m preparing for my meditation class at the Mansion Tuesday morning and for my trip to Bishop Gibbons on Thursday. Maria will work and teach in Sue Silverstein’s fabulous act rooms, and I will speak to a high school class on blogging. I also hope to meet with Killian, who I am mentoring in creative writing.

Sounds like a good week. I will also have my Zoom Meeting “Talk With Me” Wednesday Morning at 10  a.m. for people who read the blog and want to talk with me and listen to me and tell their stories. It’s the one-hour safe zone; I will admit a small group of people at 9:50 a.m. the Zoom will start at 10 and end between 10:00 and 10:45 Eastern Standard Time.

People can Sign Up whenever they want, even today.

I’ll admit people around 9:50 a.m. Feel free to bring questions or just listen or tell us about your life. The meeting will not be recorded for the protection and privacy of the people who meet.

We are already forming a community, which is sort of the point.

We had yet another “severe” storm watch this afternoon, and it was intimidating and loud but short. We called Fate out of the pasture when we heard the thunder and felt the rain. We got into the farmhouse just in time. She didn’t care.

The storm skies are gorgeous, before and after.

My baby begonias are just beginning to come into their own and are almost translucent.

We saw our Peaceable Kingdom in action today, Lulu and the sheep sunning themselves together; Lulu was meditating, it seemed.

The Imperious Hens got their snack in the early afternoon when the sun came out. The snack today, handfed buy Maria, was moldy mozzarella. The hens loved it.

The Zinnia’s have the most beautiful interiors, all kinds of designs and colors, and a world of its own. Chaotic yet beautifully conceived.

Peaceable Kingdom Two, Fanny, and Robin gossiping by the pasture gate.

I am coming to love these Photo Journals; sometimes, the best pictures I can take are the ones in front of me.  They are, in many ways, the most difficult to see. All I have to do is open my eyes, take a deep breath, and give thanks for what I have.

Thanks for reading these journals and for all the beautiful messages about my flowers. They are much appreciated. I already head a big head, it’s swollen now.

  1. So right about the Zinnia’s Jon. They are truly spectacular in their own individual intricacies and I feel your photos really do them justice.
