Covid knocked a lot out of me, and I was feeling drained and a bit sorry for myself this morning. I ran around a great deal, I had to go to Saratoga to have a foot checked, and it seems there was a wound that the doctor has to treat. I remember banging my toe.

So back to bandages and antibiotics for a week or so, but I was spared the awful surgical shoe. It’s not a big deal; she says it will be fine in a few days; I just have to watch it and keep it bandaged through the weekend. Diabetics need to keep a close watch on their feet.

She wants to see me in two weeks. I have gauze and the anti-biotics.

I am in such good hands. I give thanks almost daily.

But I have had enough health interruption for a while.

I gather that Covid radically weakens the immune system and can cause all kinds of trouble. When I got home, I decided to perk myself up. It was midday, and the sun was shining on my garden bed from a slightly different direction. I hadn’t seen so much light behind the flowers at that time of day.

I decided to have a mid-day flower festival, which was worth it. I felt great.

I spent an hour on the phone with Andrew Koehler of Mac Rescue in Vermont, he is breathtakingly skilled with technology (and music), and we had a dry run on my Zoom “Talk To Me” program, which debuts on Wednesday, September 14th at 10 a.m.

Andrew helped me set it up, and he did a good job even though I can use it.

I’ll admit 10-15 people at first and then expand a bit, but not too much. I want everyone to be heard and able to speak.

I see people are already signing up for the highly experiment live chat with my blog readers, now scheduled every Wednesday if things work out.

I’m after a more human and genuine dialogue with my blog readers than is possible in blog comments and e-mails. I often misunderstand what people say, and some understand what I am saying. I want some of these conversations to be lively, and face-to-face, like humans used to do.

My mid-day flower festival went great, the light was beautiful, and I crawled around for an hour. It was great therapy.
