The Mansion: Table Easels For The Residents, See What You Did

by Jon Katz

The Mansion is planning Halloween celebrations for the first time in several years. Last week, we bought them 14 wooden table easels, and they went to work making Halloween Decorations.

The new Mansion Activities unit is also planning. a Halloween competition with a sister assisted care facility.

They put up a  very inexpensive list of decorations and supplies for theirs. The items are affordable; if you have a few extra dollars lying around, and want to do a bit of good,  take a look.

Below is the first artwork the residents have done using the new easels.

The easels cost $24 altogether and are making a huge difference already (see below. Our bedrock philosophy is a great example of small acts of great kindness.

(The Mansion residents did these with the art s supplies we sent on the easels we bought. Great work for Halloween, their first-holiday celebration since the pandemic began.)

The items are listed here if you are interested in helping with the arts and crafts and Halloween trinkets they are seeking for their competition. We made an Amazon Wish List for the Mansion a couple of weeks ago, so I’m not doing a full course press on this one.

We also raised hundreds of dollars for the trip to the county fair.  That happens next week. Thank you, thank you.

During this strained economic era, I’m spreading the Wish Lists out every few months (we have the refugees to help also).

I’m highlighting the most important ones. This one is about fun and creativity. It’s vital to the residents and important,  but we have to make choices, and I’m careful about the ones we make.

We have to make choices, and we will. I know things are tight for people.

Under the circumstances, we are doing very well, and thank you; this is a time to be creative and focused. Small acts of great kindness. Urgent needs before others.

So I’m just mentioning this once.

All the items are inexpensive, and I bought a dozen with my own money. I’ll purchase a few more with funds from the Mansion Fund.

Thanks again; you are the most wonderful people in the world. The Halloween list can be seen here.

  1. Hello Jon. Glad you are on the mend. I just looked at the new Mansion wish list. Would you mind speaking to them about not using the fake spider webs? Those are terrible for song birds who get tangled and die at a higher rate than you know. Most people are not aware of how dangerous those things are for wildlife. Keep up the good work.
