Seconds after the storm last night, I went outside to check on my flowers, and there was the White Hen, one of our three imperious hens, marching back and forth beneath the raised garden beds, looking for the worms that usually appear after a rain storm.

Climate change from the heat has driven most of the worms deeper underground or killed them.

The hens still seem to find some.
