I’m older than ever but feel younger than ever. I was never any good at being young, but as I get older, I find meaning, purpose, and love. Money is essential but not nearly as important as those other things.
I have everything I need and everything I want. For the first time in my life, I don’t want one thing that anybody else has or one I don’t have.
That is an achievement in itself. I don’t have a perfect life, and we don’t have perfect lives together – neither does anyone reading this or any of the billions of people on the earth.
Maria came into my office excited because she had just discovered a great recipe for roasted cauliflower. She didn’t care for my response. She said I don’t have to eat it and huffed back to her studio.
I guess I have to try it.
I live in the present, and I can’t foretell the future. I’ve never been good at that. Whatever happens, no matter how long I live, I give thanks every day for what I have, which is riches beyond imagination.
That person up there in the photo is a big reason for this. I was pleased to take a selfie with her.
P.S. It’s after dinner now, and I LOVED the roast cauliflower, to my surprise. It was delicious.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful photo!
You both look so adorable – and I am happy for you~~~~

We were always told when trying new food ….”you don’t have to like it, you only have to try it”
Be brave Jon, you just might like it.
I did like it..a lot!
Happy and content! That is what jumped out when I saw this photo! So happy for both of you. Life is good ?
Cauliflower is tricky like that. Roasting seems magical !
Such a great photo! You’re perfect for each other – and it shows! Thank you for inspiring all of us.
Maria is a natural beauty and she is just glowing in this picture. You’re looking pretty good yourself Jon!
You have become a beacon for me as to what aging can look like at its best. I’ve always wanted to age backwards. As a younger woman, that meant slowing down the inevitable wrinkles. But now, as a seasoned and hopefully more savvy woman in her 60’s, that means staying young at heart, staying ever open to learning new things, and living in true alignment with my own soul, so that I can feel my “one wild and precious life” is not escaping my notice. I love how intentionally and joyfully you live the specifics of yours. Love the picture in all its candid sweetness.
Oh this made me so happy and tear up at the same time. Adorable, yes Gail!
Jon and Maria, this is a lovely photo!
Thank you for sharing there is 14 years between myself and the love of my life! And no one knows about the future we live in the present daily and thank goodness I have him. He has opened my eyes to true love and what life is all about. I’m happy I learned to love me and live life to the fullest!!! Thank you again.
What a cute couple! I have to take many breaks during my packing up of the house…you and Maria are just the ticket to relaxation and meditation! Your photographs of the flowers in your yard are lifting me up each and every day.
