We had some rough wind and rain last night, and this morning I went out to find that some of my gladiolas had been knocked over; their stems are broken. As the sun rose, I found that the rain and drops on the flowers only made them more beautiful and triggered a color riot.
This was one of the most satisfying picture sessions I’ve had with my flowers: new colors, shapes, and feelings. I rushed a bouquet to the migrant worker trailer a few miles away. They love flowers; it turns out.
The new flowers I’ve been bringing into the garden to replace the fading ones are translucent, beautiful, and full of character and feeling. Come and see for yourself. This process changed me; I told Maria I couldn’t quite believe it. Every morning I go outside thinking this joyous and uplifting experience in photography will be over.
But it isn’t. It just gets more interesting. Come and see for yourself.
This is one of my new begonia plants. I can see right through them in the morning light. I had a very good health week this week, my foot is fine, I’ve found the right sleep apnea mask, and my mysterious illness has left my body alone.
A Purple Lavender Lisianthus. I was worried because my gladiolas were fading away now; their season was ending. But I have new flowers; they are pretty beautiful. I will have good photos to take until the fall. God help me. If I don’t, I’d get roasted.
I grabbed the Leica 2 for this one. I love the new and different begonias, they have great color and character.
This is also a Leica 2 photograph. When I want a soft photo with beautiful color, I head for the Leica 2. I’m so glad I got it.
This is a Leica 2 photo, capturing a rising Zinnia in front of a declining gladiola. The garden is rich and alive and changes every single day. Just like me.
These are the most gorgeous shots I have seen you take, so far. Super work Jon. Beauty certainly feeds one does it not?
Yes it does, thanks Patricia, I think the sun is on my side this round…:)
Thanks so much for sharing your flower love with us! Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you.
This photo looks like a Tiffany Lamp to me!!

I need to say again how beautiful these photos are!! I look at them over and over!! I guess I truly can’t find the words to describe their beauty!!
