My garden has come a long way. I drove around the county looking for sales on annuals as the height of the gardening shopping season fades.
I got five beautiful new annual plants for a total of $17. I’ll be taking flower photos until the first frost.
I got too many perennials, and they are beginning to weaken. I like the idea of rescue plans, and I’m doing well with them.
I don’t have all the names of the new plants clear in my head yet, but I’ll get there. I planted all of them this afternoon and decided to move the Tin Man to an honored place on the back porch; I just needed the space.
I’m proud of my garden; it’s come a long way.
This is the new home of Ed Gulley’s Tin Man above. I think it suits him.
I got these new plants, mainly from John’s Country Power Products. I know the one on the left is a begonia of some kind. I like it a lot.
beautiful flowers. Lots of color! You have a green thumb!
I have a begonia just like that one. Supposed to be an annual but keeps cropping up every year. And I can’t figure out how but a new one popped up in a crack right next to the sidewalk! I’m in NC so warmer here, but we go below freezing several times each winter. And now it’s close to 100 and I don’t even water it. Tough little begonia.
Reminds me of Bud.
The begonia in the last photo is called a dragon-wing begonia. They are my absolute favorites! They prefer morning sun only or dappled sun the rest of the day. I bring mine indoors in late fall, prune them back, give them a spot in a sunny window, then move them back outside in late spring. Great choice!
The garden beds are looking amazing…such an explosion of colors!
Your plant is a dragon wing begonia. I have one in a hanging planter and it’s gorgeous !
