The heat wave lasted more than two weeks and was rough on the donkeys and the sheep. Between the bugs and the heat, they stayed in the pole barn all day and ventured out at night until the waves of bugs and flies drove them inside.
I’ve never seen the flies so bad. None of our usual remedies worked for too long.
The heat wave has broken, and we see them grazing again in the morning and late afternoon. We got some rain, and the grass turned green again. I think we all got a dose of the future this July.
I take life one day at a time, and I live in the now. It is nice to see this out of our windows again.
