Today was another beautiful, even magical, day in my garden; the purple Gladiolas are emerging in style, the orange Gladiolas are getting more sensual by the day, and our hardy and enthusiastic Zinnias are popping up all over the garden beds.
Each of these photos is like a prayer, calling to us for compassion, empathy, beauty, color, and light. The powers speak of hope and redemption to me.
Today is an exciting day. The Mansion Men’s Club will try to meet again (for the third time); we’ll see if it gets off the ground. If no one shows up, I’ll be back next week to try again and the week after.
(The Gladiolas was so beautiful I have neglected the begonias, who are just as beautiful but different. These are less sensuous flowers, more direct, a little old-fashioned but gorgeous, and quite proud.)
(It’s another world down there, a place of forms and shadows and sex and spirituality. A remarkable world. Flowers have souls.)
(The Zinnias are scrappy, hardy, beautiful, and relentless. They just keep coming, one feisty flower as beautiful as the rest. This bouquet went straight to Maria’s studio.)
(This seems to be the most sexually suggestive flower I have photographed).
These photos are just exquisite. They deserve to be framed.
Thanks Jean, much appreciated…
Beautiful photos of your flowers, Jon! Amazing. 🙂
Jon: Is it possible to somehow buy a print of your flower pictures?
I’m afraid not, Marcia, I don’t sell them. But they are free and not copyrighted, a gift to my readers. You can download one or print it out and have it made into a print at no charge. Feel free. If you want, I can email you one if you can’t do it..j
These flower photos brought me much joy this morning. I thought if you copied and could frame as a print to brighten the rooms of the senior residents you visit ., they might enjoy the beauty and rich color of your flowers !
Wonderful idea, Elaine!
