We have two newcomers to the Peaceable Kingdom; a pair of pigeons has settled in the big barn for the first time, and they love to sit on the ridge cap and gaze out at their new home. I like their silhouettes.
The barn swallows are busy chasing them away from their nests; the pigeons don’t want any trouble. I like seeing them out the bedroom window when I wake up.
I’m heading to the dentist this morning; a few more hours of dental work and I can move along. I see that the Orange Gladiola has blossomed; I look forward to taking some photos of this beautiful flower. I’ll do it when I get back if the novacaine doesn’t muddle my brain.
Speaking of birds, I am in the midst of an audiobook called H Is For Hawk. It is about a lady who works with a hawk teaching it to sit on her gloved hand and to hunt from there and, more importantly, to return, an ancient tradition. But it is about so much more. I think Maria would especially enjoy it.
Thanks, Linda, I appreciate the recommendation, but Maria isn’t on this site; she has her own, you can e-mail her at [email protected] if you want to reach her, jon
