Ready For Summer, Lulu And Fanny Have Finally Shed All That Fur

by Jon Katz

Our donkeys are the last animals on the farm to shed their coats for the summer, and the first ones to grow it all back in the Fall.

Today, for the first time, they are down to their more comfortable summer coat. They are struggling with flies and gnats right now, rolling around in the dirt to block some of the bites.

I like to think they are more comfortable now that their coats are gone, but I can’t say I know for sure.
