Usually, the first thing I see in the morning are the three imperious hens, gathering by Maria’s Fiber Chair for their morning meeting.
I have no idea what they talk about, but I imagine they trade information on best bets for bugs and worms and crumbs.
Then they set off to hunt and peck. Like the hens themselves, the meetings are officious and taken seriously.
I just love your chickens. Your pictures of them are so delightful. Maybe because I grew up with chickens? But we never had pretty ones like yours. Ours were just Rhode Island Red laying hens. But I fondly remember when Mama would get the boxes of 100 little fluffy biddies, who grew up to be fryers and laying hens. Tell Maria she has such pretty hens.
So many times we are surrended by love…we never receive it .
Nice photo of the good looking hens. People have trained chickens to do many different things beside lay eggs.
What a stunning photo of your White Hens! Who woulda thunk a trio of white chickens could look so beautiful and make one pause to write about them! Love it! 🙂 Jon, if you ever decide to sell this photo, please let me know on your blog, or email me. Thanks!
My chooks also have a committee meeting in front of my tunnel house each day. I do wonder what they discuss…
They look like they are praying to the great chicken god…or getting instructions on how to behave…there is just a feeling of awe and respect radiating from those chickens.
