Maria and I both understand the importance of boundaries, especially with two strong-willed creative people living and working close to one another. We each make our own space and respect it.

Maria rarely comes into my study (except to bring flowers) and I make it a point to visit her in her studio only once a week, usually on Thursday or Friday. I rarely go in more than once in any given week, but I am always delightfully surprised and rewarded when I do.

By the end of each week, Maria’s very fertile mind has usually cooked up the beginning of something new. This piece is the start of her new quilt, I notice the many ways in which she sees and uses color.

The quilt has not been offered for sale yet, but you can follow its progress on her website, www.fullmoonfiberart.com. An amazing amount of wonderful art has come out of that studio, it is very much the nesting place of Maria’s creative spark.
