We got back from seeing all the doctors today to find that Mike Conklin had struck, the huge maple tree that fell just yesterday had been chopped up in firewood chunks, limbs trimmed and stashed for a fire, and the fence was upright and repaired.
The dogs can wander freely in their little park, and the donkeys and sheep will have a barn to nibble on all summer and winter.
Mike removed most of the leaves; the donkeys got their share.
The sheep-like chewing on the bark but are not interested in the leaves. Maybe they won’t try to eat the barn this winter when they get bored.
We wouldn’t have recognized it as the same scene.
The difference between the scene yesterday and the one today was quite striking (see below):
Mike is great. There is never any drama, confusion, or frustration when dealing with him. He comes and gets it done.
Much of the trunk is still in the backyard; he’ll let it a season and then cut it up for firewood.
That will save us hundreds of dollars; it looks like excellent wood.
Good, industrious, helpful people are priceless.
