The Return Of The Monochrome

by Jon Katz

This photo reminded me of why I love the Leica Q2 Monochrome, there is something about black and white photography that just draws me and holds me.

This image captures the could of Fate, it’s not just a picture, it’s a feeling.

I love Fate’s mad gaze. When Fate wants to work, she get’s a mad gaze in her eye, her blue eye brightens and she looks like a fox prowling in the woods.

I was throwing a ball for Zinnia out in the pasture and Fate very much wanted to come. I said no this time, she ran around the sheep all afternoon and it was hot.

She needed to cool off, whether she knew it or not. And she didn’t. We have to watch her in the summer or on hot days.

I took the Monochrome out into the garden today to see how it can capture colorful flowers in black and white. I’ll put up some of the photos shortly. The Monochrome is back.
