When Fate hits the ground, it’s time to stop her and call her inside. She drinks out of the sheep’s feeder to cool off and jumps into the pond if she’s close. When Zinnia is hot, she gets in the shade or wants to come inside.
Fate has no off switch, so I watch her tongue. When it’s like this – it was nearly 100 degrees yesterday, we stop. Border collies are supposed to be smart, but mine have had no common sense when it comes to stopping.
My dog ( not a birder collie) but a setter..did same thing the on switch was on all the time
Ours as well. Go go go is their mantra. We help set the boundaries.
