Signing out for now. As you can see from my tracking radar app blow some ugly storm cells are just a few minutes away.
Our utility and the National Weather Service are in near panic mode over a
“severe” storm with heavy rain and powerful winds, we are asked to stay calm and prepare.
I’m not sure what that means. We have our generator in the barn, flashlights around the house, the cell phones are charged, and we will soon repair the porch with some Saki or wine to catch the action when it hits.
I went food shopping this afternoon. I might cook up the fish, to be sure.
The animals are on their own, fat and fed, and the Pole Barn will protect them. The rain will soak the newly spread lime into the ground, which will be good news.
I will turn off the computer, especially during lightning storms expected to be as nasty as this one.
We are that blue dot east of Saratoga Springs and northeast of Albany. The Vermont border is just a couple of miles away.
The dogs are calm in a storm as long as they stay inside. The donkeys could care less; the sheep gather in the corner of the barn and chew their cuds. The barn swallows retreat to their nests the cats banish.
I can see this storm system bearing right down on us from my beloved storm tracking app. I’m going to rush out and make sure nothing out there can blow around and move the car away from our trees.
I love this tracking system; it gives me a great sense of power when helpless. More later, when the storm passes.
Looks like a typical Texas storm blowing in. Tha last one had tornados….be safe.
