I sat on the beach trying to figure out how to capture the image of the surfers – two of them were right in front of me. The sun was in and out, the sky was gray, and the surfers moved fast when they caught a raise. I opened the shutter speed, lowered the aperture, and put the camera on a tripod.
I like this photo; it captured the surfer with great detail.
These surfers were husband and wife; they loved that I wanted to take their picture; even on their boards, you could see their connection. They were older, middle-aged, and were out in that cold water and high wind for hours. It took me an hour to get this photo; I wished I had one of those suits.
I was surprised to find this orphaned kite sailing over the ocean, there was no human in sight, yet someone needed to be controlling it in the mighty wind. I gave up trying to figure it out; I just took a picture so I could remember it.
wow, gorgeous photos, nuanced in their beauty, thank you
