Great News. Alina, Aleks, And Irena Are Out Of Ukraine And Poland And In The United States

by Jon Katz
I got some great news before heading out on our vacation. Thanks to the support of you and people like you, Alina, Aleks, And Irena are out of danger, out of Ukraine, out of Poland. They have arrived in the United States, exhausted and fearful of the fate of the rest of the family, but safe.
I know we seek to do small acts of great kindness, but this was a huge act of great kindness. Thank you.
There is no better going-away present for Maria and me as we head out to the ocean for a few days. What a wonderful omen that life is hard, but life is good. I just got this update from Mary Krasnopolski of Troy, New York, who began the gofundme drive that raised more than $10,000 to get the grandchild and children of Nataliya and Aladin Kamel, her neighbors and our friends and members of our farmers market here safely.
“Good morning everyone! Update; Nataliya and Aladins daughter Alina; and granddaughter Iryna; arrived Wednesday, April 20. They will be reunited with son Aleksandra at a later time to be announced. He is a minor; in that one parent has to fly to San Diego to receive him. A warm thank you to all who contributed to their coming to the United States. Nataliya and Aladin are extremely grateful for your generosity and blessings for the future and safety of their beloved children. May God Bless You All and keep you safe! Mary Krasnopolski; Nataliya and Aladin Kamel.”
And blessings and thanks to all of you, this could not have happened without you.
