My granddaughter Robin racked up at least three base hits in her T-ball game in Brooklyn this afternoon (notice the snappy shirts and helmets). Emma says she is a fierce competitor.
“Don’t know where she got that,” she wrote, “not from our side of the family.”
This drew a gentle but fast rebuke from pop. “I don’t agree,” I said, “you don’t have to be in sports to be a fierce competitor. You are one.”
She is the first person in our modern-day family history to love sports, I will say that. She had a great day and was cheering on the team.
So nice to see a kid outside and having fun..go Robin!
