Maria is moving along with her Bedlam Farm Animal Selfie Project, even the sheep are into it, and they are not the brightest bulbs in the shed (spoken like a border collie lover).
You have to have a special relationship with animals to pull this off.
This morning, I’m going to Bishop Maginn High School in Albany to meet the new school principal where most of the refugees will be going, along with Sue Silverstein and Zinnia, and me.
He’s buying me lunch. That hasn’t happened in a while.
Zinnia’s coming too.
The principal’s name is Chris Ingor, and by all accounts, he is a lovely and caring human being. He’s also apparently a great dog lover.
We will talk about the $45,000 tuition support donation one of the blog readers is making to the refugees on behalf of the Army of Good. This is excellent news for many people.
This donation will change a whole bunch of lives.
Many refugee children will be going to the new school – Catholic High School just outside the Albany city limits – but those funds are limited. This donation will open the doors for many others to continue to work with Sue in an environment they need.
I’m eager to meet Chris and figure out how we will continue our work with the refugee children, so important to me and many others. They and their families are still needy and still vulnerable.
I think the new school will have the resources to give them more of the tools they need, and Sue will be there to make sure they have what they need. I’ll be there as well.
I’m not backing away from this, it is a sacred responsibility to me, and I appreciate your support. The kids are also grateful that Zinnia, their 2021 Prom Queen, is coming along.
