The first experiment with flowers for every dining room table is a bit hit. Thanks again, Army Of Good.
Fresh flowers now grace every nine dinner tables at the Mansion for the first time, and my goal is to make sure they are always there.
The residents and the aides both love them, and I’ve found the perfect new florist in Heidi Cary, who has opened a beautiful florist department at the well-known and loved Country Power Products, Inc. in Greenwich, N.Y., (also the supplier of Bedlam Farm hay.)
The bouquets that Heidi designed and put together are exactly what is needed to brighten up the place where the Mansion residents gather three times every day.
It means a great deal to the residents to see colorful living things when they gather to sit down and eat. Helen, above, was shocked and delighted to have flowers in front of her when she sat down to eat.
I’ll replace the bouquets when they dry out, two or three weeks from now. These nine bouquets cost $107 for the flowers and vases. I hope to make this permanent and replace the bouquets every time the flowers die.

This is a beautiful example of how small acts of great kindness can brighten and soften lives.
Peter, below, was also pleased to see flowers at his tale. Thanks again, this matters.

That is a great idea, but you may have to replace a bit sooner. Carnations do last a long time.
