I’m heading to Bishop Maginn High School. Sue Silverstein and the school’s prom committee are meeting to decide how to spend the $7,000 that the Army Of Good raised for their final prom in June, the last one to be held at the school.
Some people were unhappy that I wanted to raise money for these worthy young people while the killing rages in Ukraine.
I have no regrets or reservations about it. They have suffered plenty and life goes on. And thanks to those of you kind enough to help. Sue Silverstein is running the meeting and I’ll bring Zinnia along to keep things loose.
I can’t wait to hear what they are thinking. They have never had any money to spend on a prom at the school. Their last one will be memorable. We don’t need a Wish List, they have enough.
Thanks again.
I understand why some would have an issue with spending money on something that seems “frivolous” while war rages, yet, when hasn’t some sort of war and the killing of others been raging? The reason more are offended by this now is that news across the globe is available 24 x 7 x 365, thanks to the Internet. There have always been those who are suffering and those who are not, but in all of history, this hasn’t kept people from wanting to help others. I love how the Army of Good has been focused on this very thing – helping others where we can, and in ways that we can. Thank you, Jon, for allowing us to help.
So happy to see this happen. ThanksJon & Army of Good
