I love this lone apple tree in our pasture, the sole survivor of what we believe was an orchard.

We’ve put fencing and netting around it to protect it from the sheep and the donkeys, but I’ve long wanted to capture the magnificent structure of this tree.

The Leica has helped make that possible. Tree are amazing things; we often take them for granted; this is one of nature’s miracles. I hope to do more tree portraits.
