This Friday (March 18th), Bishop Maginn High School in Albany will host a “Ukraine Will Bloom Again” sidewalk art show recognizing the Sunflower as the Ukraine National Flower.

Students will be coming outside of the school throughout the day to create a sunflower mural for peace outside on the school’s patio.

They will be selling sunflower pins to benefit Ukrainian relief efforts. BHMS students will replace their uniforms and dress in blue and yellow – for a donation of 1 dollar. The pins can be purchased for 25 cents.

Children with no money will get a pin free.

Additional donations from visitors to the school on Friday will be welcome.

The school says it can’t handle donations for Ukraine via mail or from outside; they suggest donating to the many relief organizations online or through local churches, temples, and mosques.

The school press release said, “Zinnia, our beloved therapy dog, will be here to join the fun for such a great cause.” This is true. So will her associates, Jon and Maria. If anyone has any questions, they can e-mail Sue Silverstein – [email protected].
