The Mother Mary fabric painting was originally conceived as a tribute to Sue Silverstein and the wonderful work we have done with her on behalf of the Bishop Maginn High School refugees.

Maria being Maria, it has become more than that.

We all see it as a tribute to Sue, but also as a spirit of creativity, a guardian watching over the creatives of the world, whose lives are never easy.

The original fabric has gone to Sue thanks to Kathye, a generous blog reader, and we both have come to value it very much. Maria thought it would make a wonderful refrigerator magnet.

I put mine on the car door on the driver’s side.
