When you marry an artist, everything around you becomes art, even when it comes to eating the snacks recommended by the Mayo Clinic meal plan.
Maria turns everything she does into art, what’s on the windowsills, what she wears, what we buy, what we eat. I’ve changed my idea of a snack, gradually, but now, completely.
My snacks are crisp, healthy, nourishing vegetables – apples, carrots, berries, cauliflower clusters, red and orange, and yellow peppers.
Maria loves to chop and organize things, She makes the snakes for me every morning. They are always gone by dinner.
My new snacks are filling, they are natural, they have no processed sugar, you can eat as many of them as you wish as often as you wish.
And oddly enough, I think they are delicious.
And the odd thing is that they are pretty, almost like flowers. I like the colors around me.
They are artfully placed and designed. I hate to eat them. But I managed. I lost a pound and a half this week.
Your Froggy in the background looks like he’s ready to pounce on those veggies! Clever of you.
Froggy could do it…
How about adding some seedless grapes– they are my go to snack throughout the day. A piece of good Parmesan to gnaw on is also so satisfying!
Too much sugar
Not to get into an argument but both grapes and cheese are included in the Mayo list for snacks! I am thinking that if boredom sets in you can vary your snack bowl.
I think of this because for months I have not snacked but now I feel a need to , because of the Winter weather I suspect. So I turned to the good old Mayo clinic’s list.
I don’t have a weight problem but I do get liquid build- up in my lungs which can lead to hospital stays. I avoid refined sugar like the plague but not fruit sugar. In fact much of my “fruit and vegetable” eating is fruit.
No need to punish your body because you are losing weight. You are a wonderful example to your readers who wish to do the same.
