New: Bedlam Dog And Animal Photos Going Up On Instagram

by Jon Katz

People come to bedlamfarm.com for all kinds of reasons these days.

Some want to share my journey through life; some are interested in my perspective and ideas, some follow my search for spiritual life, others are part of the Army of Good.

And some, I know, want to see photos of dogs, donkeys, chickens, sheep, barn cats, and occasional horses. I love that mix.

I wrote about dogs and animals often on the blog, but since I take so many photos of them, I thought it might be helpful to uplifting to use my bedlam farm. Channel on Instagram to post regular pictures of our beautiful animals – dogs, cats, sheep, donkeys, chickens, and whatever else flows through the farm.

I take many more photos of animals than I can put on the blog, so some of them may be new to others. Others are repeats, but I see them as my best photos.

As you know, I love taking photos of the animals, portraits and free motion.

Today, I started this new experiment by posting photos of Liam giving a speech and our three dogs napping by the fire. And Zinnia sticking her head out of the window.

The response was instant and rewarding.

This doesn’t mean animal photos are leaving the blog – that will never happen – but I’m happy to offer my images up to animal lovers who tell me often that pictures of animals just light them up and makes them feel uplifted.

This is the right time for this. It will help some people smile and perhaps draw some to the blog. My goal is to be useful, entertaining, thoughtful, and informative.

We want people who think, not people who argue.

As many of you know, I can only post photos on Instagram using my Iphone, and I made sure it was all working this morning. The Bedlam Farm Animal Album On Instagram is underway. I’m still figuring out tagging. I don’t want to drown in hashtags, but I want to tag other animal lovers.

I’m also considering some changes to the blog, graphic mostly. I’m adding a Photo Magazine sig as a regular feature and adding more color to the design. More later. My user name is bedlamfarm.
