Maria gave me this beautiful red rose a week ago, and I’ve been using her to understand my Leica camera’s macro option. She drew it out of me.
I decided that she and the people who have messaged me about her – quite a few, not everybody online is writing nasty messages – deserved to see her in red, her actual color.
I love black and white, but sometimes it works best in conjunction with color, which is impossible for me.
The photo speaks for itself; my Beautiful Dying Rose, to which I’ve been curiously attached, won’t be around much longer. I wanted to say goodbye.
I had no trouble painting her red; the software seemed to know what I wanted this time.
My teachers have switched me back to autofocus and shown me how to override the AF easily. I figured out to use my macro setting yesterday, and that’s how I got this close to my rose.
You are the artist, it’s up to you what works.
The black and white images with a lone subject in color are so unique and stunning. The red rose and Zinnia in the snow. The old buildings with the doors, windows, or the entire structure highlighted. I love them all and didn’t know one could do that with a camera until I saw your work. Looking forward to more of those!
Thanks Pamely, I call them photo paintings, I’m not the first by any means, but they are new enough to be startling to me and well worth learning. Not as easy as I thought, but this rose photo is a landmark for me, I think it’s just how the photo painting should be done. I appreciate the good words.
That is just lovely. So happy you are enjoying your new camera. Thanks for all you share with us.
this mauve rose is absolutely gorgeous! I think you are learning quickly and well with your new program……… I love it! I am very much enjoying your journey ………
