Zinnia is the calmest Lab I’ve ever had or seen. She is Queen of Chill. I take her riding with me most of the time when I head out to do my chores or go to the gym (yes, I’m back at the gym).
I bought a unique cover for the back seat, which is where she rides, and now that I’m not driving the Amish around all over the place, she gets to go with me on almost every trip I take.
Her favorite thing is to rest her head on the open window sill and take in the smells of the world. I love looking into the rearview mirror and seeing her head sticking out of the car.
She sometimes growls at the sight of other dogs but otherwise is silent the whole way.
The pharmacy drive-in and the tellers at the bank all have biscuits waiting for her. She doesn’t get excited; she just waits for them to come through the chute.
She’s a tremendous ride-a-long dog.
My dog Jack, coon hound lived 20 yrs. Went everywhere including work.
He confused fast food with bank tellers. Didn’t care for Milk Bones but loved burgers. He never understood why bank tellers sent Milk Bones. He’d push them on the floor & give the funniest look.
We’d stop at red lights next to a car load of kids. I’d put my sun glasses on him & he’d casually look around at the kids. They’d crack up.
The mellowest dog ever & so entertaining. I’ll love him forever.
Great story, Steve.
