Maria uses her left wrist in her work; it goes back and forth for hours every day.
She doesn’t go to doctors much; she just works through it. Lately, I can see it’s been hurting.
At night, I put some special cream on it, and this week, she went to the pharmacy to get a wrist support bandage.
She was uncomfortable because the bandage was so bland, of course, and not really up to artistic standards. Nothing about Maria is boring, so she used her other hand to sketch on the bandage and make it more exciting and creative.
There is no chance of getting her to a doctor yet; she’ll go if it gets bad enough.
Unsolicited advice : buy a wrist Brace to wear at night. It prevents the wrist from moving. Jon, I know you hate unsolicited advice, BUT this is for Maria, not you.
She hates is more than I do
Her stoicism is reminiscent of Monte Pythons The Black Knight… Tis But A Scratch!
There is a book called Knitting Comfortably by Carson Demers. Though sewing isn’t knitting both involve a lot of hand use. It is about ergonomics of crafting. I believe the author is a physical therapist. If I remember correctly there are stretches and exercises you can do to prevent or relieve pain. I haven’t used this book yet (foolish me) since the bandages work well enough. Brilliant to decorate them.
