The loyalty of dogs never fails to touch and surprise me. Every night, Maria goes up to bed ahead of me, she reads and I close up and set the thermostats, etc.
Zinnia waits for me. She knows I go into the kitchen to brush my teeth before going upstairs, and she sits in the doorway waiting. She will wait as long as it takes for me to come in.
Sometimes, Maria turns the kitchen lights out before she goes upstairs, as she did last night. When I came in to brush my teeth, Zinnia was sitting patiently in the doorway, as she always does.
The Leica was nearby so I told her to stay and grabbed it and took the shot.
The contrast of the dark room and lighted doorway makes for another interesting photo. The lighting gives Zinnia a very soft somewhat ghostly appearance. I like it!
