Bud Is Not Allowed To Be On This Chair Or To Sleep On My New Clothes

by Jon Katz

The Little King is not permitted on this chair, which I used to store my clothes during the day and after laundry and before they go upstairs. I must have thrown him off the chair 100 times. He obeys instantly, and then if I could to five, he’s either right back up or on a different chair he’s not supposed to be on.

This is why we call him the Little King. The house is his castle, the chairs, and beds his throne. Bud away with murder. Why? Because we are saps, and he suffered enough for five dogs.

Bud has many places where he loves to sleep; he is part cat, I think. He’s not impressed with the demands of people. And I’m Dracula next to Maria. He’s on a good train now, and he isn’t getting off.

I don’t mind yelling at him, but this is just a yawn to him. Like the donkeys, he knows I’m a squish to be manipulated, obeyed at times, and ignored when necessary.

  1. He sleeps on your clothes because they smell like you & he loves being near you. He has no idea why you wouldn’t want that.

  2. I’ve always given my dogs free run of the house once they’re trained and they love the freedom, especially in the winter when they can follow the sun around the house and always find a sunny place to nap on cold days. Am I a mark? Nah…. I’m every bit the disciplinarian that Jon is! ?

  3. I love it. He wants to be comfy and near you. The King has chosen his throne. Love his squishy face. Give him a hug. Lol
