A Camera With A Mind Of Its Own

by Jon Katz

My Leica is built with a lot of new software, some of it with Artificial Intelligence. My camera, like my cell phone, seems to have a mind of its own. I took this photo from inside the big barn, and the snow and ice three the camera’s exposure off. I would start playing with the settings but then realized this was an exciting image, and I wanted to keep it.

It evokes storms to me, even though it wasn’t taken in one.

  1. Hi Jon!

I just finished a book that I think you would enjoy quite a bit, your writings on winter seem to vibe very much with the sentiment of the story. It’s called Winter Pasture by Li Juan. It’s a travelogue about a woman living with Kazakh herders and their sheep as they travel.
    Loving these Leica photos!
